Correlation between Quality of Life and Health Promoting Behaviors among Hospital Staff Nurses

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship quality of life and health promoting behavior among hospital staff nurses.
Methods
Data were collected by questionnaires from 249 hospital staff nurses in General Hospital. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression.
Results
The score of quality of life showed significantly positive correlation with the score of health promoting behavior, social support, coping behavior, and hardiness. The quality of life showed significantly negative correlation with the score of burnout. The most powerful predictor of quality of life was burnout and the variance explained was 15%. A combination of burnout, health promoting behavior, coping behavior, self efficacy, and hardiness account for 33% of the variance in quality of life among hospital staff nurses.
Conclusion
This study suggest that burnout, health promoting behavior, coping behavior, self efficacy, hardiness, and social support are significantly influencing factors on quality of life among hospital staff nurses.
