Abstract |
Purpose This study was to identify the effectiveness of coping program of need profile difference, which was implemented by nursing students for 10 days at G University hospital in J City.
Methods A Quasi-experimental research one group pretest-post test design was used in this study. The Subjects were 46 nursing students students(each 23 experimental and control group) who had been practiced in Psychiatric ward of G University Hospital. The instrument of this study was the Stiles & Snow’s the Session Evaluation Questionare(SEQ, 1984, 1989). The data were collected from May 6th. 2003 to June 8th. 2003 in Experimental group, from June 3th. 2004 to June 26th. 2004 in control group. And the data analyzed with descriptive statistics, x -test and paired t-test and t-test.
Results The changed score of smoothness in experimental group participated in the coping program of need profile difference was higher than that of control group* was supported(t=2.49, p=.017). The changed score of depth in experimental group participated in the coping program of need profile difference was higher than that of control group' was not supported(t=1.75, p=.087). The changed score of positivity in experimental group participated in the coping program of need profile difference was higher than that of control group* was supported(t=2.79, p=.008). The score changed of arousal in experimental group participated in the coping program of need profile difference was higher than that of control group' was not supported(t= .94, p=.348). The total changed score of counseling effectiveness in experimental group participated in the coping program of need profile difference was higher than that of control group' was supported(t=2.88, p=.006).
Conclusion As a result of this study, coping program of need profile difference has a positive effect on perceptive counseling effectiveness of nursing students. Thus coping program of need profile difference could be considered an useful nursing intervention program for the nursing students & psychiatric patients. And we recommend that nursing students should be trained with coping program of need profile difference during psychiatric ward practice. |
