Purpose
The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of imago psychotherapy on Self-concept of Nursing students.
Methods
The period of this research was from September 1. 2001 to December 1, 2001.
The subjects were 10 sophomore nursing students in T college located in Taegu City. The research design was a one -group pretest -posttest design and the theoretical framework was psychodynamic theory. Collected data were analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS program.
Results
The results of this research were as follows：
There was significant difference in self -concept score in problem solving, interpersonal relationship ability and total self - concept between before and after treatment.
Conclusion
I would like to make following suggestions with the results of this study.
*The number of the session of Imago psychotherapy should be at least 20 and then the effect of the therapy can be properly verified.
*With repeated studies, we explore the effects of treatment and should be done follow up test for the maintenance of effect.
*We need to develop various Imago psychotherapy program to improve mental health and self -concept of nursing students. |
