Abstract |
Purpose This study was to examine the effects of a school violence prevention program on school violence attitudes, anger and aggression in adolescents.
Methods This research design was a quasi-experimental pre-and-post test control and experimental group methodological comparison study. The total subjects were 139 middle school students in G-city. The data were collected by self-reported structured questionnaires from August 31st to December 12th, 2008, and analysed by frequency, percentage, χ2 test, and t-test using SPSS/WIN.
Results There was a significant difference (t = 2.45, p = .016) in the score of school violence attitudes between groups. The score of anger (t =-2.12, p = .018) and aggression (t = -3.77, p < .001) were significantly different between groups.
Conclusion Based on the above findings, the author suggests that this program could be used in various care settings for the prevention of school violence. |
