| Abstract |
Purpose This study was done to give a description of types of paramedics' burnout and explore nursing intervention for each type.
Methods This study was a Q-methodological approach. The Q-sample was made up with 28 statements. The P-sample was 28 paramedics who were working at a fire department in 2 regions. The P-sample sorted the Q-sample for burnout. The data was analyzed by using a PC QUANL program.
Results It was classified by 4 types. Recharging pursuers regarded giving chances of recharging as important. Escapers strongly agreed with frustration and quitting his or her job. And, Ennui type was selected because they got fatigued with his or her work due to exhaustion and dissatisfaction. Finally, Submission type was selected because they rated their job value high by doing his or her best.
Conclusion It is necessary to be approached by types of characteristics in order to control paramedics' burnout effectively. Moreover it is needed to develop programs to relieve or prevent stress which causes burnout. |
