| Abstract |
Purpose This study was designed to identify the variables forecasting elderly inpatients' fall experience through a comprehensive analysis of individual, disease, environment and fall risk related factors.
Methods The medical records of 144 elderly inpatients were reviewed. The data collected from January to July 2003. Frequencies, t-test, X2 -test and logistic regression were done using the SPSS program.
Results Individual-related factors for elderly inpatients' fall experience were age. Fall risk related factors for elderly inpatients' fall experience were fall history and depression.
Conclusion The experience of fall among Korean elderly inpatients was associated not only with individual factors, but also with fall risk factors. The findings of this study suggest that broad intervention program should be provided to prevent related to elderly inpatients' fall. |
