Abstract |
Objectives Parents of child psychiatric outpatients may have many stresses due to their children's illness.
Personality and characteristics of parents and child will influence to the stress and child rearing method of parents.
The author investigated various factors having an effect on the parenting stress and child rearing method of parents.
Methods Parents in outpatients interviewed and completed measures assessing ego states, stress and child rearing control style related to parenting by Korean Ego State scale, Parenting stress Visual Analogue Scale, Child rearing Method Scale.
Results Parents shaped N shaped Egogram with top NP. They perceived the above moderate parenting stress and controlled children using by position. We find the differences in the total score of ego states by education level of father, in the parenting stress by sex of parents, diagnosis of children, in the child rearing method by occupation of father, age of mother, diagnosis of children. But we could not the correlation in the total scores of Ego states, Parenting stress, and child rearing method in parents. |
