Abstract |
Purpose The objectives of this study are to identify stress, self-esteem, family support and perceived health state experienced by Adult Examinee.
Methods Data were collected from the 248 subjects preparing for national examinations using the BEPSI-K, the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale(SES), family support and the perceived health state scale. The data were analyzed, using SPSS/PC Win 10.0.
Results In stress, the subjects registered possible 25points, averaging 12.49. It indicates that on an average the subjects suffer from mild stress. In self-esteem, the subjects registered possible 40 points, averaging 29.92. In family support, possible 55 points, averaging 43.68. and In perceived health state possible 15 points, averaging 8.20. The findings of this study, negative correlation was identified between self-esteem(r=-.390, p<0.01) and stress. The same tendency was identified in the correlation between family support(r=-.237, p<0.01) and stress. By contrast, positive correlation was identified between perceived health state(r=.281, p<0.01) and stress. Variables affecting the stress were self-esteem(P=-.352, p=.000) and perceived health state((P=.235, p=.000).
Conclusion This findings of this study recommended that a variety of self-esteem and perceived health state-related programs should be developed for the Applicants Preparing for National Examinations. |
