Abstract |
Purpose This study was conducted to be utilized into the basic data for the effective program to decrease DUI, by means of the examination of the egogram profile patterns of the attendance at the compulsory education for DUI.
Methods The subjects were 102 persons attending the compulsory education at the correction center located in ‘D’ city, Korea. The data were collected from July to Aug, 2004. The instrument was the egogram checklist Dusay developed, using Berne's theory of transactional analysis.
Results On the examination of the subjects' ego patterns, NP pattern got 1535士4.460 scores, and A pattern got 15.58^5.059 scores, while AC pattern got 11.91±4,049 scores on average, which was the lowest score among ego status. The characteristic of the egogram had the comparatively healthy adults 1 ego disposition and egotistic tendency.
Conclusion As the results of the study, the ego patterns of the attendance at the compulsory education for DUI are divided into the two types: a comparatively healthy ego and an egotistic one. Since these two patterns belong to rather extreme categories, the contents and ways of the education for them should be considered. |
