Abstract |
Purpose This study was to investigate the satisfaction with life, and identify the important predictors of satisfaction with life for college students.
Methods The subjects c이isisted of 430 college students. Data were collected by self-report questionnaires, which were constructed to include satisfaction with life, self-esteem, vocational identity, and hopelessness. The data were analyzed by the SPSS/WIN. 11.5 program.
Results Satisfaction with life for college students was significantly different according to grade, religion, satisfaction for body weight, perceived health status, conversation with parents, and conversation with friends. Satisfaction with life for college students correlated with self-esteem, vocational identity, and hopelessness. The significant predictors of satisfaction with life for college students were seli-esteem, vocational identity, conversation with parents, and religion, explaining 42.8% of the variance in satisfaction with life.
Conclusion The above findings indicate that satisfaction with life for college students is influenced by self-esteem, vocational identity, conversation with parents, and religion. The findings of this study suggest that a school health program to improve satisfaction with life for college students needs to consider these factors. |
