Abstract |
Purpose This study was to identify the effects of hypertension-management educational program on the awareness of hypertension of life-planner using quasi-experimental control group pre-post test design.
Methods The subjects consists of a convenience sample of 270 life planner, who employed a life insurance company. Hypertension-management education was conducted for the experimental group(n=124) twice for 1 hour for 1 week. The control group(n=146) did not received educational session. For both group the level of hypertension awareness was measured before and after experiment.
Results The experimental group reported a significan: higher level of hypertension awareness than control group(t=7.37, p<.001). The level of hypertension awareness of life planner was below than average(m= 12.07, range=0-27).
Conclusion This study showed that hypertension-management educational program has positive effect on increasing the level of hypertension awareness of the life planner. From the results, it is suggested that the life planner can mediating role for screening the patients with hypertension at community setting in Korea. |
