A Study Drinking Motives, Self Efficacy, Drinking Problem in Male Adults

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among perceived drinking motives, self efficacy and drinking problem in male adults.
Methods
Data were collected by questionnaire from 729 men. The subjects of this study were 729 men in Suwon. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA and pearson correlation coefficients.
Results
The relationship between drinking motives(enhancement, coping, conformity, social), self efficacy, drinking problems( occupational & social dysfunction, behavioral problem, family & interaction impairment) had correlation. A statistically significant difference were found between the drinking motives, divorce status, religion and a point of time first drinking. A statistically significant difference were found between the drinking problems, education status and occupation.
Conclusion
These results suggested that drinking motives, self efficacy and drinking problems are significantly influencing factors on drinking behaviors of male adults.
