Abstract |
Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of self efficacy and stress coping strategies of nursing students.
Methods Data was collected by questionnaires from 180 nursing students. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Sheffe test, and pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS.
Results The mean score for self esteem was 58.43. They coped their stress with emotional pacification(3.00) most frequently and passive withdrawal 1.55) least frequently. The high self-efficacy group had higher positive interpretation(t=3.277, p=.001), active coping(t=7.055, p=000), emotional pacification(t=3.053, p=003) than lower self-efficacy group. There was significantly difference in self efficacy and stress coping strategies according to grade, religion and living state.
Conclusion This result suggested that self efficacy is significant factor on effective stress coping strategies of nursing students. |
