Adjustment Experiences of Students in Nursing Education

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to understand the Korean undergraduate nursing students' experiences on their adjustment in nursing education program.
Methods
A grounded theory method guided the data collection and analysis. The data were collected by individual in-depth interview from 11 nursing students. These data were analyzed according to Strauss & Corbin , (1998) open coding, axial coding, selective coding, and process analysis.
Results
Nursing student's experiences were a process of 'Accepting responsibility as my share.’ Processes changed in the course of time. Such changes in the process advanced with "Deciding to be a nurse "Being bewildered by a new environmenf, ‘Being pushed by a huge amount of study and time’, 'Enduring with comfort for the future’, and 'Cautiously planning the future.
Conclusion
The result indicates that the supportive programs reflecting nursing students' experiences should be developed.
