Abstract
Purpose
This study was to investigate the relationships between the hope and the mental health of high school students.
Methods
The subjects of this study were 456 students who were first and second year of high school that located in Seoul. For the survey tool, it was used that the HSA and the simplified SCL-90-R.
Results
1) The hope in adolescents was significantly different according to their school record and father's educational background. 2) The mental health in adolescents was significantly different according to their father's employment status. Also, that was significantly different according to present financial status. 3) Significant negative correlation was found between hope and mental health.
Conclusions
We need a fostering hope strategy to promote mental health.
