Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore and de scribe the experience of psychiatric nurse. The qualitative research method used was phenomeno logical approach. The interviewees were eight psychiatric nurses who had experienced. The data were collected through in-depth unstructureed interviews with audiotape recording done by the investigator over a period of eight months. The data were analyzed according to the Colaizzi's method. The interview data organised by themes irUo seven categories emerged from the analysis. The categories were varies ambivalent feeling, motiv ation to apply, awareness of the limitation, conflict, discover of valuing, negative percept ion and desire for development. This study will prove helpful understanding psy chiatric nurses.
