A Study on the willingness on psychiatric nurses to assume the expanded role

Abstract
The purpose of this study is an attempt to identify characteristics of psychiatric nurses who are willing to assume the increased responsibility. This study took place in Taegu from October 3rd to October 17th 1994. The subjects for this study were 90 psychiatric nurses. All were female. Data were collected by the means of a questionnaire. The characteristics of the subject’s willingness to perform and learn total nursing (or psychiatric nursing) were checked by the methods of nurse's self report with TST and OCT. The results of this study were reviewed in a stat istical method Manova to obtain the following the results. There were significant relationship between the willingness to extended roles in psychiatric nursing and these variables-the status, marital status, positive statement about self and the nurse (and nursing).
