Abstract |
Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate a family education program on the family burden of the patients with Stroke.
Methods This study employed a quasi-experimental one group pre-post test to evaluate the program. The subjects of this study were 36 family caregiver selected by convenience sampling who having stroke patients. Data collection was done using questionnaires before and after the subjects used the program.
Results The results of this study showed that the family burden decreased after used the program(P<.05). Also in subcategories, the physical, social, emotional, and time -dependent burden decreased after used the program(P<.05).
There were significance positive correlation between family burden and the degree of paralysis of the patient.
Also the results showed that the negative correlation between family burden and the daily living of the patient.
Conclusion The study shows that the family education program have effect on decreasing the family burden of the Stoke patients. |
