Abstract |
Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of Imago Psychotherapy on self -concept of mental patients at home.
Methods The period of this research was from June 17, 2003 to October 28, 2003. The subjects were 10 mental patients in W day care center located in Daegu City. The research design was a one -group pretest - posttest design. Collected data were analyzed by paired t -test with SPSS program.
Results The results of this research were as follows: 1. The mean score of self -concept factors was between 31 and 37(lower than that of alcoholic patients). 2. There was no significant difference of self -concept score between before and after treatment.
Conclusion I would like to make following suggestions with the results of this study. Duration of Imago Psychotherapy with fixed group should be at least 6 month and then the effect of the therpy can be properly verified. We need to develop various Imago Psychotherapy program to improve mental health and self -concept of mental patients at home. |
